Our company believes that we are not just the guests of this planet but also its hosts. We care for our planet and gratefully return what we receive from it & its inhabitants. Some of our recent corporate social responsibility initiatives were on the following areas:

  • Women Employment- We address women employment issues through community outreach initiatives for betterment of wives & daughters of our employees.
  • Employee Engagement- We take various initiative to build a personal connect with the families of our employees. We also conduct trainings as well as seminars for our employees.
  • Community Health- To provide free primary healthcare services & enhance health awareness in society, we work in association with many hospitals and medical organizations.
  • Social Welfare/ Eco-Responsiveness- Our company takes many social & environmental initiatives around its production units to sustain natural resources.

Research & Development


Right from our foundation, we have been committed towards providing our customers with world-class Escorts Powertrac Euro Tractor, Powertrac Tractor, Construction Equipment, Railway Equipment and Agri Machinery that are result oriented. Our knowledge management centre which was set-up in 1976, promotes this ethos. The main objective behind forming this R&D division is to have a centre of knowledge & excellence which assist in developing effective technology plans for innovations, keeping in mind global perspective. This department also help us in optimizing product cost through the means of VEVA (Value Engineering & Value Analysis) and Standardization Program.

This facility comprises an advanced laboratory installed with fully computerized test beds with the attribute of data acquisition, analysis and online control. All our tractors are examined in this facility against the standards & norms of US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bharat TREM and European (Euro).  Some of the achievements we have achieved are:

  • We have developed first four cylinder tractor integrated with most fuel efficient engine. 
  • Manufactured 75 HP / 55 HP Farmtrac Agricultural Tractor with Epicyclic Reduction Transmission specially for heavy duty operations and Euro IIIA compliant engine tractor series.
  • Along with these, we have fabricated innovative multi-purpose tractors for specified industrial as well as non-agricultural applications like airport, potato, haulage and vineyard cultivation.

Training & Development

The core of our ethics and working policies include continuous improvement in quality of products and processes. Recognizing the need of education and training amongst the employees, we have formed Escorts Training & Development Centre in Bangalore in the year 1969. This scientifically planned centre provides complete training to employees, dealers, farmers, service-in-charge, salesmen, government nominees, financial institutions, mechanics and agricultural & engineering students. Modern and advance teaching tools are installed in this facility which includes computer learning center, multilingual training literature, exhaustive library and multimedia. By using these teaching instruments, our experts provide hands-on training, demo training, workshops with cut-away models for engineering and agricultural students. Till now, the company has trained 3.25 lakh people in different training sessions at ETDC.

History & Milestone

  • 1948- Our company was started with the name Escorts (Agri Machinery Ltd.) by Mr. Yudi Nanda and Mr. HP Nanda.
  • 1949- In collaboration with Goetze Werk of Germany, we started our first industrial venture with the name Goetze (India Ltd.).
  • 1954- We took franchise of Massey Ferguson tractors for selling them in the Northern India.
  • 1961- In association with URSUS of Poland, we started manufacturing & selling tractors in our own brand. We also started high gear business & nurtured two wheelers culture with support of Rajdoot motorcycles.
  • 1962- Joined hands with Boge, Germany for manufacturing Shock Absorbers for passenger coaches.
  • 1966- Started making shock absorber automotive in India.
  • 1969- Signed a contract with global giant, Ford Motor for manufacturing Ford Tractors. We also build our Training & Development department at Bangalore.
  • 1971- Started making Construction Equipment. We also introduced concept of Pick n Carry cranes.
  • 1974- Stepped out of the national boundaries and started providing Tractors.
  • 1977- Became part of self-developed technology & built our own R&D center.
  • 1991- We got our shares listed at NSA & BSE.
  • 2006- Inaugurated our production factory at Rudrapur of Uttrakhand (India).
  • 2010- Made a record of being the first Indian company to design Backhoe Loaders.
  • 2011- Our company introduced India's first Inverter Tractor FR45.
  • 2012- Developed Powertrac425, which is called the most fuel efficient tractor.
  • 2013- In collaboration with the Italian tractor brand, we launched Ferrari Tractors that were called world's best.
  • 2014- Taking into use high end car technology, we introduced Farmtrac 4X4 tractor.
  • 2015- In this year, we signed a joint venture with Amul Group and manufactured Steeltrac, which is called a Speciality Tractor. We also launched a lift resistant tractor in the same year for commercial haulage operations. To give good experience to customers and have digital presence of company, we partnered with Cognizant Technology Solutions.
  • 2016- To develop skills of our employees and make them perform better, we started our own Skill Development center in this year. We also launched a globally used, made in India tractor with the name Farmtrac 6090. Further, in this years, we launched our Jungli, which is a high power backhoe loader with brute force for use in tough operations.
